BRATISLAVA, November 15, (SITA) -- Slovakia's largest crude oil refinery, Slovnaft a.s. Bratislava, has lowered motor fuel prices in its network of petrol stations for the second time this week. From Friday, November 15 prices of petrol and diesel decreased by SKK 0.50 per liter. Slovnaft spokesman Lubomir Zitnan told SITA that the calmed-down situation around Iraq, resulting in an immediate fall of crude oil prices by one U.S. dollar per barrel, was behind the price cut.
From November 15, one liter of Tempo Plus 91-octane petrol is available at SKK 28 and Tempo Plus 91-octane UNI petrol costs SKK 28.40. Tempo Plus 95-octane petrol is available at the same price, and Tempo Plus 98-octane petrol sells at SKK 31.10. The price of diesel dipped to SKK 26.90.
Since October 24 Slovnaft has reduced petrol prices five times, by SKK 2.2 per liter in total. Diesel price has fallen four times, while the aggregate reduction accounts for SKK 2 per liter. The price of 95-octane petrol decreased to the price from mid December 2001 and the diesel has hit the three-year low.
Slovnaft last changed fuel prices on November 12, when petrol prices went down SKK 0.40 per liter and diesel prices decreased by SKK 0.50 per liter.
