Rettenmeier Tatra Timber to be Modernized for SKK 800 Mln.

Rettenmeier Tatra Timber, s.r.o. plans to invest around SKK 800 million into modernization of its wood-processing plant in the central Slovak town of Liptovsky Hradok, which was partly destroyed by a large fire in early March. Preliminary damage was assessed at around SKK 300 million. As the mayor of the town, Branislav Treger, further informed, the company plans to invest to build a new sawmill.
This investment is expected to create over 300 jobs. The mayor welcomes the investment, since the project will contribute to development of the town and the whole region.
Rettenmeier Tatra Timber, s.r.o. was inscribed into the Corporate Register in 1999. The core of its business is joinery and carpentry, production of furniture and timber constructions. The German company Rettenmeier International GmbH holds a 80-percent stake in the company, Milan Benco owns a 15-percent stake and RSH Holding, s.r.o. Polomka the remaining stake.
Another local company, Eltek Energy Slovakia s.r.o. decided in February this year to expand its production in Liptovsky Hradok. In August of last year, Eltek opened a production hall in Liptovsky Hradok making backup energy sources for the telecommunications industry and provided jobs for 150 people. The new investment is expected to create 350 new jobs.
