Average Loan Interest Rate was 6.92 Percent in March

In March, interest rates on loans provided by commercial banks in Slovakia dropped from the previous month. According to the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) figures, they decreased 0.07 percentage points m/m to 6.92 percent on average. Interest rates on loans for non-financial companies reached 5.85 percent on average in the third month of this year, which is 0.25 percentage points less than in February. The average interest rate on household loans increased from February by 0.11 percentage points to be at 8.39 percent.
The average interest rate on new loans taken in March dropped 0.23 percentage points to 7.07 percent. The average interest rate on new loans drawn by households was 11.12 percent. Non-financial companies took new loans at 5.53 percent in March on average. The average interest rate on drawn loans was 7.43 percent, down 0.43 percentage points from February.
The average interest rate on deposits in commercial banks in Slovakia amounted to 1.974 percent in March. The interest rate on demand deposits of non-financial institutions was 1.114 percent; on demand deposits of households it was 0.539 percent. Interest rates on new deposits reached 1.806 percent on average in March. The interest rate on new demand deposits of non-financial companies reached 1.114 percent and it was 0.539 percent in the case of households.
