U.S. Investor is Planning Beverage Can Plant in Kechnec

The company Crown Bevcan Slovakia, s.r.o., a member of the U.S. multinational group Crown Holdings, Inc., the leader in metal packaging technology, is planning to make an EUR 40 million (EUR 1.205 billion) investment in the eastern Slovak village of Kechnec. In the local industrial park, the company plans a beverage can plant. According to environment impact assessment of the project, the investor should create 200 jobs in the new plant producing aluminum cans.

The company plans to launch construction works this October. The plant should be finished next May, on an area of more than 6,000 square meters. The investor plans to produce 775 million cans annually in the Slovak plant. The investor's plan that is currently being judged by competent organs suggests that the investor's decision on placing the investment depends on whether plots will be immediately at disposal and also on cooperation with the local government. The material continues that the investor will have prepared in Kechnec not only the plot with infrastructure but also additional services regarding health care, housing, sports and cultural activities.

Crown Bevcan is a leading supplier of aerosol packaging, beverage packaging, food packaging, metal closures industrial products. It has operations in 42 countries employing over 24,000 people and net sales of USD 6.9 billion.
