Kofola Soft Drinks Maker to Plans to Invest in its Storage Capacities

Soft drinks producer Kofola, a.s. is planning an investment for approximately SKK 250 million (EUR 8.298 million) in Slovakia. The company wants to build a new warehouse in its production unit based in Rajecka Lesna. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study shows that the construction of the new hall is to create 128 jobs. The expansion of storage capacities is to increase production capacity in the existing unit, according to the evaluated intention.

The company plans to start the construction in October 2008, while it is to be completed in May 2009. The overall built-up area of Kofola premises is to expand from the current 8,500 to 19,900 square meters following the construction. The production premises area will have 45,800 square meters compared to the current 27,700 square meters. The reason for the expansion is bolstering of leader's position in the sector of soft drinks production in Slovakia and rising portion in the whole of the central European region, for which the current capacity would no longer be sufficient.

Kofola, a.s., Rajecka Lesna was enrolled in the Business Register in July of 2001. Its share capital is SKK 67 million. The Kofola Holding is one of the most prominent soft drink producers in central Europe. It operates on the Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Polish markets. Its factory in Rajecka Lesna employs 300 people.
