New industrial orders in Slovakia decreased 7.9 percent m/m in August, Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, reported on Tuesday that Slovakia had the highest m/m drop in new industrial orders among the twenty EU countries that provided data to Eurostat. In a year-on-year comparison, industrial orders in Slovak industry increased 2.4 percent.
Within the European Union as a whole, new industrial orders increased 1 percent m/m in August, following a decline of 3.5 percent in July. In the 13 member Eurozone (including Slovenia, which joined the Eurozone on January 1), industrial orders mounted by 0.3 percent m/m, following the July drop of 2.6 percent. Industrial orders in the Eurozone reported a y/y growth of 5.1 percent in the monitored month, while within the whole EU they rose 8.2 percent y/y.
