On Tuesday, August 12, diesel and petrol prices in Slovakia will fall. Petrol prices will go down by 50 hallers (EUR 0.0166) per liter and diesel prices by 70 hallers (EUR 0.0232) per liter. The average price of 95-octane petrol will thus represent SKK 40.60 (EUR 1.348) per liter and average price of diesel will be between SKK 43.50 (EUR 1.444) to SKK 43.60 (EUR 1.447) per liter. The Internet portal www.natankuj.sk. further informed that the price reduction is a result of the development on world commodity markets, where the fall in crude oil prices brought down also motor fuel prices on the Rotterdam commodity exchange.
"If development of oil prices continues decreasing, it is very realistic that also next week motor fuel prices in Slovakia will fall," Tomas Novotny for the portal natankuj.sk said. He estimates that by the end of summer holidays, the average price of 95 octane petrol Natural could drop under SKK 40 (EUR 1.328) per liter and the average diesel price could go down to SKK 42 (EUR 1.394) per liter.
Since the beginning of this year, petrol prices have gone up by SKK 1.80 (EUR 0.0598) per liter and diesel prices by SKK 2.85 (EUR 0.0946) per liter.
