Passenger railway transport company Zeleznicna Spolocnost Slovensko (ZSSK Slovensko), a.s. will pay for regular repairs of its thirty cars SKK 71.5 million (EUR 2.37 million) excluding value added tax. The national railway cargo transport operator ZSSK Cargo, a.s. will perform the repairs in line with an agreement concluded on July 23, 2008, based on a framework contract signed in December of 2007. According to the contract, ZSSK Slovensko will pay for periodical repairs of railway cars SKK 1.5 billion (SKK 49.79 million) over the period of three years. It will pay an additional SKK 2.5 billion (SKK 82.98 million) excluding VAT for maintenance, unplanned repairs and periodical checks of the railway cars also over the period of three years. The railway transport company informed of conclusion of the partial contract in the Public Procurement Journal.
ZSSK Slovensko launched its operations as an independent company at the beginning of 2005, when the former Zeleznicna Spolocnost, a.s. split into two entities. ZSSK Slovensko took over operations of passenger railway transport.
