The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) presented on Tuesday an audio-visual CD designated for the members of the Roma minority, which should in an interesting and understandable way inform of the adoption of the common European currency in Slovakia from the start of next year. The CD contains one pilot and two bonus tracks in various music styles in the Roma language. Its cover features practical examples, pictures of euro coins, and other basic information on the euro introduction. NBS Governor Ivan Sramko, who was one of the godfathers of the new CD expressed his belief that in this way, the Roma minority will get necessary information on the new currency. 20,000 copies of the CD were produced that will be distributed through regional centers of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Roma Communities.
This musical project is a part of the campaign sheltered by the central bank for ethnic minorities. The CD also contains four short information spots with subtitles in the Roma language and a film of the European Central Bank on price stability. In addition to the central bank governor, also Government Plenipotentiary for the Roma Community Anna Botosova Government plenipotentiary for the euro adoption in Slovakia Igor Barat became godparents of the new CD.
The National Bank of Slovakia prepared for the information campaign for the Roma community also television shows with information on the new currency, performances of a traveling theater Romathan, an informative DVD, as well as seminars for social field workers and teachers.
