CSOB Leasing Made New Contracts worth SKK 6.708 Bln. in H1

In the first half of this year, the leasing company CSOB Leasing made a total of 9,058 new contracts worth SKK 6.708 billion (EUR 222.7 million) in acquisition prices of financed assets. The financed volume, and thus the volume of provided funding by the company, made up SKK 5.113 billion (EUR 169.7 million). Company PR Director Tereza Molnar Coplakova specified for SITA that the figures also include its partner leasing firm PSA Finance, with which CSOB Leasing has an agreement of strategic partnership in financing of Peugeot and Citroen cars. In the first six months of last year, the company concluded new contracts worth SKK 5.969 billion (EUR 198.1 million).

With regard to types of financing, financial leasing dominated in H1 with a volume of SKK 4.443 billion (EUR 147.5 million) and with 5,156 new contracts. The second most popular type of financing was loans, with a volume of SKK 1.942 billion (EUR 64.46 million). The remaining two products in CSOB Leasing's portfolio were of only supplemental character, according to Ms. Coplakova. The company concluded contracts through installment sale credits worth SKK 191 million (EUR 6.34 million) and new contracts on operating leasing worth SKK 132 million (EUR 4.382 million).

With regard to commodity structure, Ms. Coplakova informed that it was more or less balanced in the first half of 2008. Machinery and equipment constituted the biggest share in new contracts, with SKK 1.95 billion (EUR 64.73 million). Passenger cars followed with a volume of SKK 1.863 billion (EUR 61.84 million) and trucks with a volume of SKK 1.765 billion (EUR 58.59 million). Utility cars followed closely with financed volume of SKK 1.115 billion (EUR 37.01 million). The rest was financing of computers and office technology.

CSOB Leasing is a universal leasing company established in 1996. The Slovak CSOB bank holds a ninety percent stake in it, and Czech CSOB Leasing has the remaining ten percent. The company is a member of the Belgian KBC Group.
