The Health Ministry, as well as health care organizations, are dissatisfied with the outline state budget, according to which payments that the state transfers to health insurance funds for its insured should increase from the current 4.5 percent to 4.75 percent of the average wage in Slovakia. The Health Ministry demands the rate for calculation of payments for state policyholders to increase to 5 percent of the average wage. Requirements of health care organizations are even higher. They demand this payments to increase to at least 5 percent of the calculation base with subsequent growth. "We cannot agree to the outline state budget, which is why we will take all legal steps to see our requirement met," said the Slovak Doctors' Chamber (SLK). The Finance Ministry sees room for discussion about this issue. "This requirement, as well as others, will be subject to talks on the state budget," said ministry spokesman Miroslav Smal.
