No matter whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, you need to make the most out of your trip and to have as few complications as possible. Let´s look at some tips which can make the intended business trip as stress-free as possible. Travelling without stress means being prepared. Allow enough time for preparing a business trip as it involves a lot of planning and last minute details that can easily be forgotten. As soon as possible put together a schedule and an itinerary. They are crucial for arranging all other details of the trip. For those who travel frequently, it is a good idea to keep a checklist of the items that need to be packed for a trip. This saves much time or turning up half way across the world without your toothbrush. It will also allow you to plan for a trip in a calm and relaxed manner. When arranging appointments organise them by area. Write a list of appointments including contacts and telephone numbers and prepare a list of topics and questions for discussion. Remember to re-confirm appointments two days in advance. All documents and correspondence regarding the appointments together with relevant papers, should be attached together, filed and labelled. Do not forget to pack stationery, e. g. letterheads, memos, pens, paper clips, folders etc. Make sure that name cards and a name and address list of clients as well as your own business cards are included. Check whether your travel documents are valid or due to expire and if there is sufficient space for stamping of visa or entry endorsement in your passport. It is advisable to renew the passport if it is due to expire in 3 to 4 months' time. Some countries will not accept visitors if their passports are due to expire. You should see your GP. If travelling with a chronic condition, find out if there are English speaking doctors in the area you will be visiting. Don't forget to get enough medicines or prescriptions of medication to carry in your hand luggage. Always take a bit more medication than you think you will need. Have a letter from your GP if you need to carry needles or suspicious drugs. Discuss any vaccination needs for your trip. Do not forget your personal first aid kit. Try to get the best connection with the least possible travel time. If going by air or train, plan the times with your travel agent and have all the details in writing. All special requirements should be discussed in advance with the airline or your travel agent. If you decide to drive, you should be very careful when planning the trip. Allow enough extra time for breaks and possible slow-downs. Have the car thoroughly checked to avoid troubles on the journey which can cost you a lot of money, time and nerves. If the visas are required, arrange them as soon as you can. We recommend you to book your room early to avoid availability problems; remember to obtain confirmation of your reservation. It is important and necessary to have some foreign currency in small denominations for taxi fares, tips, airport tax, etc. Check if there is a maximum amount of local currency that can be taken in and out of the country
