A draft amendment to social insurance law will take effect from the beginning of January in its full wording, despite the fact that opposition deputies asked the Slovak Constitutional Court to preliminarily halt the effect of some of its provisions with regard to their potential contradictions of the Slovak Constitution. The Constitutional Court has already obtained this motion; however, it will not deal with it by the end of the year. "The proposal will be assigned to a judge-rapporteur at the first meeting of the Constitutional Court's Plenum in January," said the head of the Constitutional Court Chairwoman's Office, Lubica Mackovicova.
