fire in a hostel in Kysucke Nove Mesto on Friday left nine victims behind. The hostel burnt to the ground. Two persons are missing. Rescuers definitively finished searching through the rubble for more survivors. They found seven fatalities on Friday and today they found further two bodily remains. Two corpses are male and two were female. No child was among the dead. Zilina police spokeswoman Jana Balogova said that police has to identify the corpses and announce a search for the missing persons.
The police have not yet found the cause of the fire. They, however, already know that the fire started inside the building.
The hostel was erected by the town's authorities to house socially weak families. According to a list, eighty people were registered there but the number does not have to correspond with the people in the house during the disaster. Nine people were injured by the fire.
